Hello, Hello! Praise God! Joining this God-breathed ministry has been an answer to prayer for so many reasons. If you didn’t already know this…God has a sense of humor. Roughly a week ago if someone had told me guess what Erin, you’re going to be a mom…I would have said…NO WAY DUDE! God sure has a way of pleasantly surprising us doesn’t he?
This story actually began several months ago though…REWIND. I was accepted to go on a mission trip February 2013 and God pressed upon my heart to find a second job to free up my financial commitments. When I began praying about such a job I gently asked… ok maybe slightly demanded that the job not be total drudgery and boring. That the job would be something I enjoyed and was passionate about. Done.
FAST-FORWARD…Roughly in a weeks’ time I had two separate friends from two totally different churches mention this particular Live-In Manager position at Naomi House. Something definitely began to stir in me but of course I had that moment of...single gal becoming a House Mother…WHAT? I figured I at least better pray for the ministry and investigate a bit more. So how does this fit in with the bigger picture?
Lately, God has been speaking to me all over the place in church, in books, conversations, etc about the concept of adoption, orphans, human trafficking, and how great His love is not only for myself but for those that are displaced, wounded, broken, and lost. Each and every one of us matters deeply to Him….and ALL believers have a responsibility to take notice to those around them in need and be God’s hands and feet…even right here in Wautoma!
Often it seems that God has brought me to a business or ministry when He is about to spark something new or breathe fresh life to an area that needs refreshing. Very curious to see what God is planning for Naomi House and open to learn and grow heaps during this season. I would definitely covet your prayers through this transition for myself, these families, and the ministry of Naomi House.
A bit about the gal behind the title…I enjoy long walks on the beach…snicker…talking about, worshiping, and learning about Jesus, anything outdoors, mentoring ladies, fundraising, photography, marketing, networking, jumping in mud puddles (very much a kid at heart), and travel. My weaknesses in no particular order are JESUS, outreach, a good book, wild flowers, Chinese food, ice cream, and Hughes chocolate just to name a few.
Can’t wait to get to know more about you all as we partner together in this ministry God has blessed Wautoma with!
Be Blessed!
Miss Erin Johns
